Emergencies

Online counselling is not suited if you have an enduring mental illness, are experiencing extreme distress, or have current suicidal ideation.

In the event of you needing emergency support during our work, I will request your permission to contact your GP and/or recommend alternative forms of support to online counselling to ensure the best level of care for you.

In between sessions if you are feeling in acute distress or needing emergency support it is imperative that you contact one of these emergency contact numbers

Samaritans      08457 909090    www.samaritans.org   jo@samaritans.org (email)

Women's Aid   0808 2000 247   www.womensaid.org.uk

Or contact your GP or local hospital, A&E department

Real world contact information. I will be asking you for 'real world' contact information other than that which we will use for our work together, this is to cover emergencies and potential system failures

Referral

I am not able to provide online counselling to any person who is under the age of 18. I can help with information on referral to other agencies.

There is no obligation to continue just because we have made contact.

Similarly, I reserve the right to not work with any person simply because they apply. I will, however, try to find anyone an appropriate referral route. I have an extensive list of resources from which I can make recommendations.
